Preparation

Separation
Blood is drawn from one arm and passed through a centrifuge, separating your clean components — red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets (~40%) — from your contaminated plasma (~60%).
Exchange
Your clean components are combined with medical-grade albumin and saline and returned to your other arm immediately. The contaminated plasma is discarded. No more than 200ml outside your body at any time.
